Blog Post #2: Project Comparison

I chose to look at the Gulag: Many Days, Many Lives project. I think I’d really like to do something like this and the archive on the site, albeit a bit more condensed given how dense my topic can be and how much there is to cover. On a smaller scale, having a nice, in depth description of the pieces of art for my project would be really nice to have, as it can be more digestible for a regular audience on top of being a way for people to look for art that may be more interesting to them or pieces they recognize. Also, the page linking to the different exhibits is a really great way to break up the topic to be easier to read and can help people find what they’re more interested in and keep them engaged (in the case of the Gulag project, perhaps someone is more interested in Stalin’s role in the gulag system, which one of the exhibits goes over). The only thing I’d change is perhaps integrating the other exhibits into the site, instead of going to their own sites; it makes navigation easier, but beyond that, content-wise, the site is fantastic.
