About Me

My name is Joseph or Joey, and I’m currently a junior at George Mason University. I’m currently studying Communication, with a concentration in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. I grew up as someone who always struggled to communicate my feelings a lot, and I feel that looking at and dissecting how we communicate with one another was a great way to force me out of my comfort zone, and help me understand why I may struggle with it, beyond some other factors. Most of my online presence is social media, which I use mostly to keep up with my interests (mostly video games) and communicate with friends and family.

I think this class will help a lot with my professional life because, beyond our assignment structure being less about grading and more about just keeping on top of deadlines, it helps get a real idea of how it really is in the real world. Exploring how we create our digital footprint has several benefits; beyond teaching how history and the internet are deeply intertwined, knowing the skeleton of a page on the internet is hugely helpful, especially in a world that right now greatly values tech skills.
