I think I’d organize my content by both the type of content (such as text and writings from various artists or academics) and the time of the content. For my project, they’d be broken in to eras, like romanticism, expressionism, etc. and what was going on in the world at the time (such as wars Germany was involved in or global events that would impact what I’m studying.

I really want my items in Omeka to show how visual art and expression of all kinds (visual arts, performing arts, fashion, architecutre) evolved as Germany’s presence on the world stage was molded and changed over the 19th and 20th centuries, and how art in protest of the movements that promoted nationalism came to be, how they were viewed, and what the movement stood for. I’d like for the exhibit to be split between periods of time and perhaps highlight specific moments in German history that influenced the art I’m studying, such as global conflicts that don’t involve the country and ones that did involve Germany (or in the case of the 19th century, Prussia). I feel that doing so gives broader context to the forms of expression that I’m studying and helps the reader better navigate my point and helps avoid confusion.
