About Me

Hi there! I'm Joey, a student at George Mason University who's currently working towards an undergraduate degree in Communications. My project looks at how art in all its forms is intrinsically tied to nationalism, specifically in Germany. When I started my project, I wanted to look at something that dealt with Germanic history and art; I've always found the connection between politics and art to be a really deep and noticable one, and I'm of the belief that we should all be more aware of the fact that art can tell us how to feel, even if we don't think it can. I'm hoping that, with this topic, we can challenge ourselves more to see how something that may seem benign can absolutely have ulterior motives in it. You'll see plenty of evidence of this in the exhibit, but once you finish scrolling through it, remember to always think why some art makes you feel a specific way.
